Person Of Indian Origin Killed In Rotorua Crash Named

The man who died in a crash on Anzac Day in Rotorua has been identified by police as 33-year-old Shubhkarman Singh, a local resident of Ōwhata.

Singh died at the scene of a two-vehicle crash on Te Ngae Road in Ōwhata around 9.10pm. Another person involved in the crash sustained serious injuries but was previously reported to be in a stable condition.

"Police extend their condolences to his loved ones at this difficult time. All occupants involved in the crash have been identified," the police statement read.

Investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash remains ongoing. Police have previously appealed for witnesses to come forward, particularly anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage of the incident.
