Four Auckland schools in lockdown after verbal threat
Four schools located on Te Atatū Peninsula, in Auckland, have gone into lockdown due to a verbal threat made over the phone.
Rutherford College, Rutherford Primary, Matipo School and Te Atatū Intermediate are all in lockdown.

"All tamariki are safe and secure in their classrooms with your child's classroom teacher," Matipo tumuaki Matua Jonnie Black said.
In a post on its website, Rutherford College is advising parents not to phone or come to the school, as it could put safety at risk.
The post said parents would be advised via the website when the emergency was over.

Police say they are responding to a verbal threat made over the phone towards Rutherford College.
They were notified just before 11.30am.
The schools, and a neighbouring childcare facility are in lockdown as a precaution, police said.
