Legendary Bollywood actor Dharmendra, 89, has been admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital and is currently under observation, sources confirmed.
The actor, who will turn 90 next month, is reportedly stable and not on ventilator support, contrary to social media speculation.
A source close to the family clarified, “The ventilator news is completely false. Dharmendra has been hospitalised for about a week but is stable.
Sunny Deol visited him this morning. If anything serious had happened, the entire family would have been at the hospital.”
The actor’s team also issued an official statement:
“Dharmendra is stable and under observation. Further updates will be shared as available. We request everyone to pray for his speedy recovery and respect the family’s privacy.”
Earlier this month, the veteran star was briefly admitted to the same hospital for a routine check-up. Fans and well-wishers across the country continue to send prayers and messages of support for the beloved actor.
Hema Malini, meanwhile, took to Instagram to share an update on Dharmendra’s health. She wrote, “I thank everyone for their concern about Dharam ji who is in hospital for observation.
He is being continuously monitored and we are all with him. I request you all to pray for his welfare and speedy recovery.” She was also seen visiting the actor at the hospital.
Dharmendra was hospitalised on October 31 for a routine check-up.
He has been in the hospital since then. His team had stated at the time, “There is absolutely no cause for concern. The actor is in good health and visits the hospital often for routine medical tests, which is the reason for his current stay.
It seems that someone spotted him there, which has led to a frenzy among his fans, but there is nothing to worry about as he is absolutely fine.” However, reports have claimed that the veteran actor was taken to the hospital after complaining of breathlessness.
