Auckland’s North Shore broadband services restored after outage

A broadband outage that disrupted thousands of properties across Auckland’s North Shore has been resolved, Chorus has confirmed.

According to a report by 1News, the telecommunications infrastructure provider said the outage began shortly before 4.30 am on Tuesday and was caused by a configuration issue following a planned network change.

Chorus said the network change had been carried out in the early hours but was rolled back after problems emerged.

"Some of the config details that direct the flow of internet traffic between have not been reinstated. This is causing the loss of service to a large portion of services. Our technical teams are investigating remedial activities as urgently as possible," as quoted by 1News.

Chorus' outage and faults map showed that many of the affected services had subsequently been restored.

One New Zealand also confirmed that its customers had regained access to fibre broadband services.

In a statement, the company said, "Service has now been fully restored for our fibre broadband customers," as quoted by 1News.

"We're sorry for any disruption earlier this morning. Chorus is investigating the root cause of this issue," 1News has quoted.
