Queenstown lit up in a spectacular display of lights, culture, and community spirit on Saturday night as hundreds gathered to celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Lights. The event, hosted by the Bhartiya Samaj Queenstown Charitable Trust at the Queenstown Memorial Centre, offered a vibrant showcase of Indian culture, traditions, and togetherness.

The celebration featured a stunning array of traditional and contemporary performances, including classical Indian dances, energetic Bollywood numbers, and cultural presentations by children and youth from the community. Guests also savoured authentic Indian cuisine and sweets, adding flavour to the festive atmosphere.
Special guests, including local MPs, community leaders, and representatives from various organisations, joined the festivities and praised the Trust for promoting cultural diversity and inclusion in the region.
Speaking at the event, Mangal Behal, founder of the Bhartiya Samaj Queenstown Charitable Trust, said, “It was wonderful to see our community come together to celebrate Diwali and mark our 10 years of service in Queenstown.
