malkit singh delivers wholesome dose of punjabi music

Iconic Punjabi singer Malkit Singh lit up the night in Auckland with a spellbinding concert that will be etched in the memories of all who attended.

Organised by Humble Productions along with Avi & Jot Production at Due Drop Events Centre in Manukau on October 27, the evening was indeed a night of musical jubilation and cultural celebration.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, the stage lights illuminated, and the crowd erupted in excitement.

Dressed in a shimmery blue suit, Singh, known as the Golden Star, took to the stage with his infectious smile, greeting the audience with humility and grace. The music began and the rhythmic beats of the dhol resounded through the hall. Singh’s powerful, soulful voice captivated the audience, transcending language barriers and uniting everyone in the joy of music.

He began his performance by paying an ode to the Almighty. His rich, resonant voice enthralled the audience, taking them on a musical journey through the heart of Punjab. His music united people of all backgrounds, transforming the auditorium into a melting pot of jubilation.

Throughout the performance, Singh engaged with his audience, sharing personal stories and the meaning behind his songs. This intimate connection between the artist and his fans made the night all the more special.

"It's amazing to see so many people from different backgrounds coming together like this. Thank you very much, New Zealanders. You gave a lot of love, so I will always be indebted to your love," Malkit Singh said during his performance.

One of the high points of the evening was when Singh sang ‘Maa de hatha diya rotiya’ and made everyone emotional.

As the evening progressed, the energy in the room reached a fever pitch. Hits like ‘Tutak tutak tutiya’, ‘Kali ainak’ and ‘Gur nalo ishq mitha’ had the crowd on their feet, dancing and singing with infectious enthusiasm.

The whole venue became a dance floor as attendees, young and old, joined in the exuberant bhangra dance, moving to the beat of their hearts and celebrating a shared love for music and culture.

"Seeing Malkit Singh perform live has been a dream come true," said Amarpreet Kaur. "His presence on stage is magnetic. His energy was infectious. I couldn't resist dancing the night away. The concert eventually ended, but the memories it created will linger on.”

Regarding the response, Jazz Singh of Humble Productions said, "It was overwhelming to see that the audience left with hearts full of joy and spirits lifted by the magic of Malkit Singh's music. Malkit had left his mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to be in attendance.”

Adding to this, Arvinder Sandhu of Avi & Jot Production said, “The concert was a blend of euphoria and reflection. The music became a bridge, connecting people from different cultural backgrounds, momentarily erasing divides and uniting them through the universal language of music. It will be etched in the hearts of those fortunate enough to be part of this unforgettable night.”
