Labubu is a weird little character from Kasing Lung, a Hong Kong artist. It started in The Monsters Trilogy book that was based on Nordic stories. Labubu got famous after teaming up with Pop Mart in 2019, and some celebrities like Dua Lipa, Lisa from Blackpink, and Rihanna like him.

New call-to-action

Many popular unboxing videos on TikTok have helped with Labubu's popularity. Usually, these toys cost $20–$30, but really rare ones can sell for thousands.

This one has Labubu in streetwear, wearing Sk8-Mid shoes, a hoodie, and a The Monsters cap. The values of Labubu stuff is going up lately. Sotheby’s sold a Three Wise Labubu for $28,300, and other team efforts, like Sacai x Seventeen x Labubu, got over $31,000. One Labubu that was normal size brought in over $150,000 at auction in June.

Dr. Lori Verderame, who knows items very well, said that this reminds her of the Beanie Baby thing from the 90s. She says that Labubu comes from art and books, so people might keep wanting to have them.

Pop Mart stores have been super hectic because of this. Some stores in the UK had to close, and customs in China have been taking them.

Pop Mart started selling stock in 2020 and is doing great. They think their profits will go up 350% and income will go up 200% in the first part of 2025. In 2024, their income was $1.8 billion.

The creator, Wang Ning, is now one of the richest people in China, with about $21 billion.

The eBay sale ends, but this Vans Labubu doll could become a real valuable item, costing over $10,000.
