Veteran actor Nana Patekar passes away
Veteran Indian actor Nana Patekar has died at the age of 75 after suffering a severe cardiac arrest at his residence in Goa.
According to Dr Shekhar Salkar, Chief of the Oncology Department at Manipal Hospital, Patekar was declared dead at 5:20am on Thursday. Doctors attempted to revive him with continuous CPR for around 45 minutes, but he could not be revived.
A medico-legal case (MLC) has been registered, and a post-mortem will be conducted, Dr Salkar said, according to news agency ANI.

Patekar was one of the most respected actors in Hindi and Marathi cinema, with a career spanning several decades. He was known for his performances in films including Parinda, Krantiveer, Agni Sakshi, Khamoshi: The Musical, Ab Tak Chhappan and Welcome.
He won three National Film Awards, four Filmfare Awards and two Filmfare Awards Marathi for his acting. In 2013, he was awarded the Padma Shri for his contribution to cinema and the arts.
