Stand-up comedian Aakash Gupta is returning with his new show, "The Brand New Show." Show organisers Bollysphere have stated that they are "proud to be bringing Indian comedy to the Bruce Mason Centre for the first time. An Indian comic will be performing at this venue for the first time."
Aakash Gupta gained fame as the co-winner of Amazon Prime's "Comicstaan Season 2." He is a sensation on the internet, known for his stand-up videos on YouTube and his highly acclaimed stage performances.
Born and raised in Delhi's Sarojini Nagar, Aakash discovered his passion for theatre during college. Despite starting a corporate job after graduation, he continued to pursue theatre, eventually leaving his job to explore different forms of theatre, including comedy and improvisational theatre.
Aakash's journey into stand-up comedy began with an open mic performance at Akshara Theatre, Delhi, in 2014. He released his first stand-up video on YouTube in 2017, which propelled him to fame. Since then, he has produced numerous videos and was the co-winner of "Comicstaan Season 2" with Samay Raina. His stand-up video "Sarojini Nagar" was the first Indian stand-up video to trend at number 1 on YouTube. He has also appeared on a comedy reality show on Amazon alongside Sunil Grover, Kusha Kapila, Gaurav Gera, Mallika Dua, Cyrus Broacha, among others.
"We are very excited and have lined up a lot of artists in the coming months, including the likes of Amit Tandon, Anubhav Singh Bassi and Abhishek Upmanyu", said show organisers Bollysphere.
