Sehwag guides Daredevils to second consecutive win

Ahmedabad: A swashbuckling 75 from Virender Sehwag helped Delhi Daredevils register their second consecutive win in the Indian Premier League (IPL) beating Rajasthan Royals by six wickets here Monday.
Daredevils achieved the target of 142 in 17.1 overs by losing four wickets at the Sardar Patel Stadium in Motera here. For the Royals it was their second consecutive loss.
Daredevils’ bowlers restricted Rajasthan Royals to a modest 141 for six in 20 overs, after skipper Gautam Gambhir won the toss.
Gambhir (9) departed early but Sehwag was on a rampage and thrashed the Royals bowling attack with his aggressive stroke-play. Sehwag hit five sixes and eight fours during his 34-ball stay and was also adjudged Man of the Match.
Dinesh Karthik (23 not out) and Mithun Manhas (11 not out) stitched a 28-run partnership for the fifth wicket to see Daredevils romp home safely. Dimitri Mascarenhas picked up two for 31.
Abhishek Jhunjhunwala, a former Indian Cricket League (ICL) rebel, scored an impressive unbeaten 53 off 45 balls and helped Royals post a challenging total on board.
Abhishek and Paras Dogra (29) bailed out the Royals from a precarious 50 for four with their 60-run stand for the fifth wicket.
