IDC soccer fest heats up
Former Fiji soccer star Esala Masi stamped his class at Bill McKinley Park yesterday (Saturday) as the long weekend of soccer extravaganza got underway.

Masi, who now plays in Australia, yesterday donned the jersey for New Zealand Masters as they trounced Rewa 6-0 in the feature match of the day in the Veterans / Interdistrict Tournament played in glorious Auckland weather.

Masi slotted in four goals against Rewa and is again expected to star in against Suva in one of the fixtures today at Mt Wellington.

In other games, Nadi Masters downed Lami 4-1, Ba beat Lami 1-0, and Suva also gunned down Rewa 1-0. Suva today plays Ba.

In the IDC proper, defending champion Nadi outclassed Ba 3-0 in a strong performance which sounded out a strong warning to other participating teams.
Labasa, Lautoka and Navua also had good outings.

The tournament features the seniors IDC and also the Veterans tournament which was postponed recently because of rain.

The Fiji-NZ Football Association organized tournament will end on Monday.
