Southern Institute of Technology represents at the World Skills competition

The Southern Institute of Technology (SIT) is proud to announce that four SIT trades apprentices have been selected to compete in the National World Skills Championships finals in Hamilton, between 3-6 July. Winners of each discipline at the national championships will then compete at the Worlds Skills International Finals in Brazil later this year.
SIT representatives are Adam De Pass (Jackson Plumbing) Plumbing, Chloe Ferguson (Do Hair) Hairdressing, Jeff Sutton (Class Harvest Centre) Automotive Technology, Michael Good (Peter Howley Joinery) Joinery. SIT Hairdressing representative Chloe Ferguson said she “is nervous and excited as it will be a huge step up.” While Jeff Sutton SIT Automotive Technology representative said that he was “a wee bit surprised, but very excited. The chance to compete at a national level with the winner being able to compete on the international stage in Brazil is pretty cool.”
SIT Head of Faculty for Trades Mike Grumball said “It is great that these students have been selected to represent the region in the National WorldSkills competition in Hamilton. It will be a rewarding, but challenging experience and we wish them well.”
