Radha Krishna Temple invites devotees to conduct special pujas on auspicious Shravan month

Hindus observe the fifth month of the solar year as Shravan, a holy month dedicated to spiritual practices and religious offerings to Lord Shiva and other Hindu Gods and Goddesses.

As per Lunar Calendar, Shravan sets-in on the new moon day when the perfect sky is under the celestial sovereignty of Shravan Nakshatra (one of the twenty-seven Nakshatras), and therefore it is called Shravan.

Many Hindus observe fast during Shravan month, especially on Mondays, which are dedicated to Lord Shiva.

According to the legends mentioned in Hindu scriptures, the holy month of Shravan is dedicated to worship Lord Shiva for success, marriage and prosperity. The month of Shravan is also considered auspicious due to many other Hindu festivals such as Janmashtami, Raksha Bandhan and Nag Panchami, Shitala Saatam and Nori Naum falling in this month.

Since it is one of the most auspicious periods of the year, one should take advantage of it by performing Shravan Maas Shiv puja. It is said that during this month, the cosmos is supercharged with Shiv Tatvas that purifies the mind, the senses, the body and the self (soul) through the rituals dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Hindu devotees get into the religious spirit during the month of Shravan and visit temples and engage in devotional activities such as worship, Sadhanas, meditation and bhajans as each day of this month carries immense spiritual significance.

Sri Radha Krishna Temple located at the Mahatma Gandhi Centre on 145 New North Road, Eden Terrace will be hosting several special pujas during this auspicious month. The newly conferred doctorate priest, Acharya Sri Dr Devrambhai Raval is known for his knowledge and wisdom that devotees come to gain in his puja sessions. Dr Raval is eager to see new faces to welcome and bless them at the temple during the holy month of Shravan.

Sri Radha Krishna Temple will be performing exciting religious programs such as temple bus yatra, Samuhik Shiv Maha Pooja, Sri Krishna Katha, Samuhik Satya Narayan Katha, various other pujas and bhajans throughout the holy month.

The temple priest and the management of Radha Krishna temple have wholeheartedly invited all devotees to come with their friends and family and take part in all poojas and rituals during the Shravan month.
