Yoga on top of Auckland Harbour Bridge makes powerful statement

In a first of its kind, a group of yoga enthusiasts led by Art of Living New Zealand created history and sent a powerful message by performing yoga on top of Auckland Harbour Bridge.

It is important to note that June 21 is celebrated as International Day of Yoga all around the world. It was once again the privilege of New Zealand to lead the world in global celebrations of Yoga – a group of physical, mental, and spiritual practices which originated in ancient India.

The Indian Weekender team also joined the group of about ten yoga enthusiasts, right up to the topmost point at the iconic Auckland Harbour Bridge, which is exactly 64 meters above the sea, to capture the historic moment.

Speaking to The Indian Weekender, Meena Sathishkumar of Art of Living New Zealand said, “We wanted to drive the message of ease of doing yoga literally from any place on earth.

Sharing the enthusiasm of her team members for the act, Ms SathishKumar said, “Our team is super excited about this opportunity.

“In fact, this has not been easy for everyone.

“Some of our team members have to overcome the fear of height and that was only possible because of their passion for this ancient practice of yoga,” Ms Sathishkumar said.

The Indian Weekender team is also travelling to India to bring live coverage of yoga celebrations under the aegis of the government of India. More details on page number
