Brand Telangana: Join in to support Telanganites and improve their livelihood

An excellent opportunity has arisen for us NRIs in New Zealand to help Telangana people!

Many traditional artists like handloom weavers, craft makers from the region of state Telangana live in a hand to mouth situation. Their age-old skills and art are slowly dying due to lack of a proper market.

Brand Telangana is a not for profit organisation that is sourcing these small manufacturers, by buying their products and minimally marketing them (mostly word of mouth at this stage) in New Zealand. The products are sold at cost price with only freight charges as add-ons.

The primary purpose of Brand Telangana is to give an opportunity for access to the NRIs to traditional produce while helping the producers to benefit directly. As the product is made available at the cost price, both the consumer and producer benefit. This is a win-win situation. We appeal to all the NRIs living in New Zealand to help our local Telangana people so that their standard of living can be improved and also preserve our traditional art, at the same time.

Sunitha Vijay is the lead founder of Brand Telangana and is actively promoting its social media page by encouraging all the NRIs to buy Telangana manufactured products. She is very optimistic and happy with the support from all communities so far and also plans to donate a Jacquard unit to a weaver family to support their livelihood.

Currently, Brand Telangana is promoting Hyderabadi lac bangles, the plan going forward is also to facilitate and create a commercially viable market for these products for the garment makers of Telangana and New Zealand retailers.

Most of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi New Zealand (TRS NZ) committee members are volunteering for this great initiative. We are also planning to spread this initiative to other countries with the help of Telanganites living there locally.

Sunitha Vijay is also thankful to Telangana Association of New Zealand for helping and promoting Brand Telangana by providing numerous platforms in NZ.

Other prominent women like Sridevi Krishna Pusarla, Varsha Reddy Patllola, Sheetal Allam, Laxmi Kasuganti, Vijetha Rao, Swetha Patlori have taken a pledge to support by buying, showcasing and by promoting by performing for the products of Telangana.

Jai Telangana ??
