Telangana Association hosts its first event in Hamilton

The Telangana Association of New Zealand hosted its first-ever event in Hamilton on Sunday, May 18, at the Shri Balaji Temple in Frankton.

TANK conducted this Puja seeking the blessings of Shri Ram, Seetha Maata, Shri Lakhman and veeranjaneya on this auspicious occasion.

TANZ members from Auckland and Telanganites from Hamilton participated in this sacred Utshavam performed different rituals starting from 8:30 a.m. on Sunday.

At 8:30 a.m. the Vedhoktha Prathishtha of Sri Sita Rama, Hanumath and Lakshmana Utshava idols was performed as per Sri Paancharatraagama Shastram.

At 10 a.m. the priest performed Snapana Thirumanjanam (Divine bath or Abhishekam) and around 11:30 a.m. the Kalyana Uthsavam was conducted by the chief priest of the temple Sri U VE Komaanduri IIayavalli Pandurangan Narasimha Acharya and Sandeep Acharya along with few other renowned priests of the temple.

Theertha and Maha Prasada were distributed at the end of the Puja and trustees of the Hamilton Balaji Temple and locals gathered for the Puja in large numbers.

As TANZ has promised earlier, it is expanding the Association to other cities in New Zealand to preserve and encourage the Telangana culture, heritage, festivals and customs. The Association is also planning to conduct Bathukamma and other cultural festivals across New Zealand later in the year.
