Kiwi-Indian MP Kanwaljit Singh Bakshi will be a Guest of Honour at the Youth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) on January 21, 2019, along with the US Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard.
This was confirmed by a press release by the High Commission of India, Wellington, earlier today.
"It is a matter of honour that Shri K.S. Bakshi, Hon. Member of Parliament will be a Guest of Honour at the Youth PBD along with the US Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard," the press release stated.
The 15th PBD Convention would be organized by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India in association with the State Government of Uttar Pradesh on January 21-23, 2019 in Varanasi.
"It would be great if we ensure maximum participation from the Indian diaspora in New Zealand in the event," the press release further stated appealing to the diaspora to further strengthen the strong ties of the Kiwi-Indian community with India.
