World famous musicianary Benny Prasad will be the main guest artist at a grand Easter youth gathering in Auckland next week.
The Youth Easter Fiesta 2010 will be held on Saturday March 27, at the Trusts Stadium Arena, Waitakere, from 3pm to 10pm.
This festival is a large scale youth programme, one of the organizers, Leela Wati, said.
“Many youth groups from churches of different cultures/ethnicities and denominations will present an item at the festival.”
There will also be guest speakers such as the world renowned Steve Kumar. There will be live bands performing.
Also, there will be multi-cultural food stalls, non-food stalls, not-for-profit food stalls and educational institutes. Rides for youth and children will also be present, Leela said.
Benny Prasad, of Bangalore, will be in New Zealand for only two days. He has a huge international following. His popularity in New Zealand is escalating at a fast rate.
The church members and friends of the youth groups will provide support with their attendance. There is also a sports tournament on the running track (next to the Trusts stadium) at the same time.
“We are having an extensive marketing campaign. Public admission is free. Seating capacity of the stadium is 2000. We are expecting high foot traffic. Similar if not more than Diwali and Holi, as this is a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic and multi-denominational event.
“This is the first time any church in Auckland is organising an event/festival of this magnitude. Not only is this the first time for a church to do something like this,” said Leela.
“But this is the first time for an Indian church to host an event as big as this. No other church (especially an Indian church) has managed to set up something like this in Auckland.
“All in all, it will be a great for all to enjoy.”
