Thumping win for Royal Challengers against RR

Bangalore: Bangalore Royal Challengers registered a thumping 10-wicket win over 2008 champions Rajasthan Royals in a Indian Premier League (IPL) match here Thursday.
Manish Pandey scored 42 and Jacques Kallis 44 as Royal Challengers achieved the target of 93 runs in 10.4 overs at the Chinnaswamy Stadium here. Put into bat, Rajasthan Royals were all out for 92 runs in 19.5 overs.
It was a clinical performance by the Royal Challengers’ bowlers with skipper Anil Kumble leading the charge with his three for nine from his 3.5 overs. Praveen Kumer bagged three for 18 while Man of the Match Kallis bagged two for 20.
Rajasthan batsmen had to blame themselves as the top order got starts but none of them could get to a big score. A fit-again Yusuf Pathan scored 26 off 24 balls but his efforts were not enough.
Pandey and Kallis gave the home team a great start as the Royals bowling fell flat. Pandey hit seven fours and a six during his 30-ball stay while Kallis’ smashed seven fours in his 34-ball innings.
With the win Royal Challengers now have four points from three matches and moved to the second spot while Royals slumped to the bottom of the league table with their third consecutive loss.
