Parkash Samagam comes to NZ after ten successful years in UK

On the occasion of the 350th birth year anniversary of tenth Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh and 95th martyrdom anniversary of Panja Sahib, the Gurdwara Nanaksar at 100, Great South Road, Manurewa is hosting Parkash Samagam for three days in South Auckland.

Parkash Samagam has also been hosted in Melbourne, Australia earlier last week and it will be held at Nanaksar Thath Isher Darbar in Manurewa from Friday, October 13 to Sunday, October 15.

Parkash Samagam event is coming to New Zealand after being hosted for ten years in Guru Nanak Sikh Academy in the United Kingdom.

The programme is being held under the renowned stewardship of Baba Amar Singh Ji and will have Kirtan led by Bhai Manjit Singh (Hajuri Ragi Darbar Sahib), Bhai Amarjit Singh (Nanaksar UK) and Katha will be done by Singh Sahib Giani Gurbax Singh ‘Gulshan’.

Parkash Samagam will start at 4 p.m. on all the three evenings and will continue until 9 p.m. with the Akhand Paath recitation, kirtan and katha in the respectful memory of Sikh martyrs who laid their lives to fulfil the ‘Ardas’ of serving Langar (free kitchen) to prisoners who supported the freedom of Harmandir Sahib from Imperial control. In addition to the religious sessions, there will also be talks on the recollection of the martyrdom history that will be shared amongst the congregation.

This event will bring the community together and understand some of the most important aspects of Sikh history. All members of the community are invited and urged to attend the programme during the three days.
