Sylvia Park Shopping Centre to have lit elephant displays this Diwali

One of the largest and most popular shopping destinations of Auckland is installing two giant elephant displays to commemorate the Diwali festival of the Indian community.
One of the two beautiful and colourful lit elephant displays will be installed outside Country Road store and second outside the food court area. These two elephants will be available for public viewing for eight days, Monday, October 16 to Monday, October 23.
The community in New Zealand celebrates the biggest and the brightest festival of the Indian community on Thursday, October 19. Devotees visit temples for worship, and it is also the biggest occasion for shopping for the community.
In addition to the two elephant displays at Sylvia Park Shopping Centre, the mall will also have daily Bollywood dance performances between Thursday, October 19 and Monday, October 23. Aaja Nachle, the Auckland's premier Bollywood dance school, will perform at the venue.
The performances will be a mixture of both junior and Intermediate classes and private dance groups. The performances will take place in the same area as the Elephant displays; performances times will be displayed online at sylviapark.org and on-site at the performance areas.
The performance will take place at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
