Five stores attacked in 48 hours in West Auckland

Police has appealed the public to help then hunt two offenders who were out on a robbery spree last weekend attacking five stores in 48 hours.

Two men armed with a hammer and a firearm attacked started the spree on Saturday night, September 23 at West Auckland Liquor Store. The men took cash and cigarettes from the store. The two men then stored into Swanson Road BP Service station and robbed the store.

The offenders on Sunday at 9 p.m. attacked Mobil Service Station on Don Buck Road but the attendant activated the fog alarm, and the offenders had to run empty-handed.

Seven minutes later, the two offenders attacked Challenge Service Station on Swanson Road and took cigarettes and cash. The attendant as instructed fled to the back of the store and locked.

The police has appealed through its multiple posts on social media and other media to help identify the perpetrators.

 “We need your help to identify them. Since Saturday, there have been five aggravated robberies in West Auckland at four different petrol stations and one at a liquor store. We believe these are all linked,” police said.

Luckily, no one was seriously injured in these events however the victims were left understandably very shaken by the incidents.

“We are appealing not only to the offenders but to their families and friends; you will recognise them from this footage. You need to do the right thing and tell us who they are so we can stop them from hurting anyone else.
