Death of an Indian woman in Christchurch ‘unexplained’

The police is investigating the death of a 28-year old Indian woman in Christchurch who was found dead in her apartment on Monday, September 11.
Police on Thursday, September 13 told The Indian Weekender that the post mortem was conducted and the cause of the death is yet to be determined.
Police has deemed the death to be ‘unexplained’, and inquiries are being made on behalf of the Coroner, police confirmed.
A forensic examination of the property was conducted by the police on Wednesday, September 13.
The police interviewed the husband of the deceased woman on Monday when the incident was reported.
Emergency services were called at Selwyn Street near Hagley Park on Monday morning where the couple lived and when St John’s ambulance arrived at 9:10 a.m., they found the woman lying in the hallway and the husband performing CPR on her.
The name of the woman will be released once her family is informed in India.
