India NZ Business Council hosts Ministerial delegation from Haryana

The Indian High Commission and the India New Zealand Business Council (INZBC), Wellington Chapter, had an impressive dinner event held at Tulsi Restaurant, Cuba Street, Wellington on Saturday, June 17.

A high-level delegation from Haryana visited Wellington on June 17. The delegation was led by O.P. Dhankar, Minister of Agriculture, Government of Haryana and accompanied by MLAs from Haryana including  Subhash Barala, Mool Chand Sharma and Tek Chand Sharma and other delegates and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Deputy Directors Vishal Beri and Surinder Pal Singh.

Indian High Commissioner to New Zealand Sanjeev Kohli and Head of Chancery, Sandeep Sood, received the delegation.

The event was well attended by many prominent businessmen from Wellington, led by Jay Changlani from Accounts Icon Chartered Accountant and Chapter Head of Wellington INZBC, ably supported by Mr Monty Patel of Tulsi Restaurant Chain, and especially those from the Agriculture and associated sectors.

Mr Dhankar currently holds various portfolios in the Haryana government including Agriculture and talked about various projects such as horticulture, green house and dairy production in his state.

The dinner was followed by a fruitful business to business meeting with some meaningful exchange of ideas happening in this visit.

Chapter Head of Wellington INZBC Jay Changlani said, “We provide a platform to exchange ideas and network so that serious businesses can make most out of these events. I congratulate and thank the Indian High Commission for engaging us to work with them in such a fruitful and meaningful delegation event.

This is in continuation of INZBC’s efforts at providing some top class events for the industry over the past decades.

With more than 20 events big and small organised in the past 2-3 years alone, INZBC has covered most of the important industry sectors and has been able to get the Kiwi companies to sit up and take notice of the India story.

Specifically, the Government of Haryana has forged a close relationship with INZBC and businesses in New Zealand.
