Prime Minister pulls curtain on National’s high decibel campaign

Prime Minister John Key joined Dr Parmjeet Parmar at the Zookeeper’s Son in the Royal Oak this evening to end a campaign that can safely be described as a high decibel campaign for the Mt Roskill by-election.
This was the same venue from where the Prime Minister has officially launched the National’s campaign for this by-election last month on November 5.
The by-election was necessitated because of Phil Goff’s election as the Mayor of Auckland earlier in October this year.
Phil Goff had held this seat for the Labour Party since last three decades when this seat was created for the first time.
Today was the last official day of electoral campaigning.
Advance voting is already open for this by-election since November 21, and the election is due tomorrow, Saturday, December 3.
Prime Minister is aiming to create a history by becoming the first sitting government in parliament to be able to win a seat long held by the opposition party in a by-election.
National Party is seeing a real chance in creating that history in Mt Roskill.
"We have got a once in a lifetime opportunity of putting a National MP here in Mt Roskill", the Prime Minister had earlier said at the launch of the campaign.
Dr Parmjeet Parmar had repeatedly said that “the Labour Party has taken this seat for granted”.
Demonstrating exuberance and satisfaction on running a seemingly successful electoral campaign Dr Parmar said that "it was really a possitive campaign”.
Will National be finally able to create the history is the question in everyone’s mind today.
