A fallen tree scare at a Childcare center in Auckland

Police have attended a scene in which four children have been injured at Discoveries daycare centre in Newmarket.

Police were advised at 1.40pm that a tree had fallen into the daycare centre.

Fire and St John Ambulance have also attended and four children have been taken to the hospital.

The fallen tree was growing within the daycare centre grounds and has fallen within the property.

Because this is considered to be a workplace, Worksafe NZ has been advised and Police is holding the scene until such time as Worksafe NZ arrive and take over.
