Breaking News: In a major blow to the prospects of high profile visit of the Prime Minister John Key to India, the trade delegation will have to skip Mumbai - the financial center of India, from their itinerary.
The decision has been just made public by the Prime Minister himself at the Townsville airport in Australia where Prime Minister's plane has broken down earlier today when it stopped for a refueling.
Indian Weekender special correspondent traveling as a part media delegation along with the Prime Minister has confirmed this just now.
Although, what implications it would have on the overall outcome of the visit still remains to be seen, yet it is a major blow on the opportunity to discuss about enhancing trade cooperation between the two countries.
Mumbai is not only a major financial center of India but is also home to India's renowned film industry - Bollywood.
Prime Minister was hoping to woo Bollywood to promote tourism and investment in New Zealand.
As of now, it appears a major opportunity lost for the NZ Inc.
It is reported that another Boeing 757 of RNZAF is being flown in from Antartica to Townsville directly.
Prime Minister, including the delegation, will stay overnight at the Grand Chancellor hotel leaving early tomorrow at 5 a.m. and reaching directly New Delhi at 5 p.m.
