Stepping up our game

In our continued endeavour to contribute, enrich and honour the Kiwi-Indian Community, the Indian Weekender is proud to announce two new awards in addition to its iconic Kiwi-Indian Hall of Fame, which is now running into its third year. While the Hall of Fame is an award that immortalises the contributions of the inductee, the two new awards are the biggest honours for the year. The two new awards being introduced this year are: The Kiwi-Indian Young Achiever of the Year and the Kiwi-Indian Unsung Hero of the Year.

The Kiwi-Indian Young Achiever Award will honour young Kiwi-Indians who have shone through their talents and hard work and have become names to reckon with. Nominations are being invited from young people between the age of 16 to35 years. If you know anyone who fits this description or feel that you are that person yourself, you need to fill in a nomination form and forward it to us immediately. This young achiever could have demonstrated their genius in any field - be it academics, sports, art, culture, community service or any other area.

The Unsung Hero award is dedicated to those individuals who carry on regardless of their achievements getting recognised. These are those individuals who do not care for name, fame, money or personal gain, but have followed their overpowering calling to service the community. These are truly the unsung heroes that have made a difference to numerous lives around them. So if you know any such hero amongst us – reach for that nomination form now at http://goo.gl/zO5Zoi.

Please remember that nominations for the Hall of Fame close 31st march 2015. Nominations for the Young Achiever Award and Unsung Hero Award close 15th April 2015.
