Indian woman found dead at Okahu Bay

Police were called to Okahu bay this Monday morning, after a member of public discovered the body of a women washed ashore at Okahu Bay.
Initially, officers attending the incident said there were no forms of identification on the woman and checks did not reveal any recent reports of a missing person that fit her description.
But later on, police said that the information about her identity came overnight and she was identified as 53 years old of Indian descent who lived in Mt Roskill.
As per the police statement at the time of publication, officers were in the process of advising next of kin of her death.
“Enquiries are continuing into the circumstances of her death but it is not believed to be suspicious and the matter has been referred to the Coroner,” said a police statement.
