Bigger, brighter Navratri celebrations this year
Following last year’s resounding success, the Auckland Indian Association has announced an even bigger Navratri festival at Mahatma Gandhi Centre from Saturday, September 19 to Sunday, September 27.

The start time will be 8pm and as in previous years, the daily events will continue until late. Entry is free before 8pm on every night except on Friday and Saturday. Aarati will be held at 9-30 pm (Sunday to Thursday) and at 10pm on Friday and Saturday.

Garba and Dandiya will be to the accompaniment of live music by singers and musicians from India. Of course, as usual, there will be a sumptuous spread of Panipuri, Bhelpuri, Patodi, Samosa, Kachori, Pav Bhaji, Dosa, Hot chips plus many more items that will be freshly cooked and served. Mineral water, soft drinks and tea and coffee will also be available.
