Kiwi Indian playing in the business big league competing in the final for International Entrepreneur X-Factor!
Preetesh Morar, having an inspirational story from door to door salesman to now running his own successful Online Marketing business, has made the finals for the International Entrepreneur X-Factor with his new business My Legado.
Sick of seeing athletes gain more coverage for their ‘off the field’ antics than their game, Preetesh, or Pretsel as he is better known, is inspired to change the face of professional sport for all parties involved, the athletes, the businesses/sponsors and the fans. My Legado (my legacy in Spanish), is focused on teaching professional athletes how to build their legacy.
Pretsel has made sport and business his life. Playing for representative Hockey teams at a young age, still competing in the NZ Indian Hockey tournament, having his first business at 10 years old, studying marketing and design at Otago University, working in marketing and sales in some of New Zealand and Australia’s top companies and now running YZ Marketing, specialising in online marketing and branding. Pretsel has now found a way to combine his two passions of business and sport.
Preetesh stresses, “So many professional sports stars do not understand how to market themselves, and make the most of the exposure they gain, and are often left with nothing at the end of their career, I could not think of a better legacy to leave behind than a generation of sports stars who know how to add value to their fans and sponsors and step up the responsibility of being a role model,”
Inspired by great examples like of Usain Bolt, My Legado, teaches athletes the skills businesses use to create a brand and use the latest online technology and social media to market themselves, whilst adding loads of value to their sponsors and fans. Already working with some top athletes such as Anna Flannigan, International Young Hockey Player of the Year, Emma McCarthy- International Rower, and the Brisbane Roar, Pretsel is already making a difference to the face of professional sport.
