Start 2013 with Badminton

This February, Otahuhu Badminton Club will be holding a series of open days to welcome new club members in 2013.The club is excited to open it’s doors on Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th of February 2013, from 6.00pm – 9.00pm, free for people aged 18 and over.
This is the first time the club has held an open day in more than twenty years, and it is hoped the free night will encourage members of the community to try something new.All levels of players are welcomed to come along, with rackets available for free hire on the night, and coaching for beginners provided.
Otahuhu Badminton Club is located just off the southern motorway at Seaside Park, 231 Princes Street East. Otahuhu.Since 1971 Otahuhu Badminton Club has operated from Seaside park as a ‘not for profit’ sports club, run completely by community volunteers.
The club itself was even built by volunteers, as passionate club members fundraised to build a purpose-built badminton hall. Previous to this, the club had been gathering at the Otahuhu Community Hall, but use of the facilities here were restricted due to other functions and clubs, which also used the hall. Badminton is the fastest racket sport in the world, and is great for fitness.The open day at Otahuhu Badminton Club could be the perfect start for those wanting to try something new this year and lead a healthier lifestyle.
