NZ agricultural produce has been given the official ‘swaadisht’ seal of approval from India’s Masterchef judge Kunal Kapur. “All New Zealand produce is among the best in the world and highly regarded in India,” said Mr Kapur. “It is terrific in traditional Indian food.” Kapur was speaking about the food and beverage sector in India to ANZ customers involved in the sector in New Zealand.
Sunil Kaushal, Head of India Relations at ANZ, said the event was about promoting the culinary ties between the two countries. “India is already New Zealand’s seventh biggest market for exports, and this has risen by more than 160 per cent in the past five years,” he said.
“There’s an amazing opportunity for our food and beverage companies here in New Zealand to capitalise on our good reputation over in India and explore the different markets there. We’re hopeful that one of our customers’ products will one day feature on ‘Indian MasterChef’. Combining the artistic flavours and flair of Indian cooking with our world-renowned produce is sure to be a winner!” Kaushal said.
