Sai Sansthan observes Guru Purnima

Shri Shirdi Saibaba Sansthan of NZ Inc celebrated Guru Purnima July 25, which was a successful function, attended by about 1500 devotees for 4 aarthis/other functions organised during the day. The day started with Kakad aarthi at 7.00 am followed by Baba abhishekam amidst chanting of Vishnu sahasra namam and Sai sahasra namam attended by 200 people.
Guru puja/Sai Sathya Vrath Katha was conducted by Pandit Chandru and 38 families participated. A wonderful skit was enacted by devotees, depicting a few wonderful chapters from Sai Satcharita and the strange way Baba had for imparting knowledge to devotees. Sai Sumiran was released by our devotee Sastry Rambhatla, barrister. This was followed by Madyaan aarthi and mahaprasad. More than 500 devotees were present for this.
Bhajan groups from Sathya Sai group, Pushpanjali and ISKCON enthralled the devotees with their melodious bhajans from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm. This was followed by the much awaited Pallaki Seva with the Pallaki decorated beautifully with Baba’s murthy and padukas. All devotees present had the opportunity of carrying the Palaki.
The hall reverberated with devotees chanting Vishnu Sahasranamam, as the procession began from the main hall to Radhakrishna temple and back amidst fireworks. Dhoop aarthi was held at 6.00 pm. Melodious bhajans were sung to the accompaniment of tabla by Dr Pragna and harmonium by Mr Bharat Parikh. The programme concluded with Shej aarthi followed by Mahaprasad and attended by about 700 devotees.
Paintings donated by Shri Yogendar Varma of Mumbai were displayed and 2 were sold for $552. One painting was donated to a devotee through lucky dip as per the wish of Mr. Varma.Another picture of Baba donated by Shri Ketan Shah raised $1,600 through raffle.
Thanks to all devotees, donors for their support which enabled Sansthan to conduct the Guru Purnima celebrations on a grand scale.
The Sansthan could generate a net surplus of $ 39,200 for the temple project.
