Mahesh-Vesnina lose Wimbledon Mixed Doubles final

London: India's Mahesh Bhupathi and his Russian partner Elina Vesnina lost the Mixed Doubles final of the Wimbledon on Sunday here as the Austrian/Czech pair of Jugen Melzer and Iveta Benesova beat them 6-3, 6-2.
The ninth seeds clinched the game in just 51 minutes on Centre Court as they did not drop any set, ending Bhupathi's chances of an eighth Grand Slam mixed doubles title.
It was Benesova's first Grand Slam title. Melzer thus lifted his second title at Wimbledon. He had won the men's doubles with Philipp Petzschner last year.
Melzer and Benesova broke Vesnina-Bhupathi in the fourth game going 3-1 up and then won the first set in 24 minutes (6-3).
In the second set, Bhupathi and Vesnina were broken in the third and seventh games as the formidable winning pair clinched it in 27 minutes.
