INZBC hails minister's recent India visit
Following the successful business delegation to India, a lunch meeting was organised by the India-NZ Business Council on April 20. This event was to do a de-brief of the recent visit of Minister Jonathan Coleman to India during which INZBC also held a successful event at Mumbai in association with ANZ to coincide with the opening of a new consular office in Mumbai.

As well as Minister Coleman, INZBC invited Indian High Commissioner to New Zealand Admiral (Retd) Sureesh Mehta, National MP Kanwaljit Singh Bakshi along with some members of INZBC.

INZBC Chairman Wenceslaus Anthony welcomed all and encouraged the participants to have a healthy discussion on issues relating to the India-NZ relationship in general and the trade in particular.

Minister Coleman shared his experiences of his recent visit as a Minister and on a lighter note commented that India had progressed immensely from what he say when we travelled there 17 years ago as a backpacker. He saw a great opportunity for India-NZ trade and wished INZBC all success in being the nodal organisation in promoting trade relationships between the country.

The HC also extolled the great opportunity India present to the rest of the world and hoped that the trade between NZ-India grew impressively

Mr Bakshi outlined how the fast growing economy of India could help New Zealand business and industry grow, if the two countries would work together and thanked the minister for his support.

Sunil Kaushal Head Indian Segment ANZ and MarkHiddleston GM Northern Commercial ANZ also spoke and presented ANZ as a bank that was far ahead in establishing business links in India that could be of great value for trade between India and New Zealand. They also announced that the first ANZ branch is opening shortly in Mumbai.

ANZ already has a back office/call centre in Bangalore. ANZ bank is positioning itself as the best available solution for businesses operating in the India-NZ space.
