One person has died and six people have been injured after a crash southeast of Whanganui.
Police said they were notified of the single-vehicle crash on Makirikiri Road, in Turakina village, about 3pm.
The driver died at the scene and six passengers suffered minor-to-moderate injuries. The injured people were assessed by ambulance staff.
Police said the road would be closed for some time and the Serious Crash Unit was investigating.
