Aucklanders are all set to witness the magic of soulful Bollywood music of the 90s as famous Bollywood singer Vinod Rathod will be performing in the city next month.
The concert, presented by Trivision Entertainment, will take place at Mahatma Gandhi Centre (145 New North Road, Eden Terrace, Auckland 1021) on March 4’ 2023.
The 60-year-old Rathod, known for his melodious voice and versatile singing style, has been active in the music industry for several decades. He has worked with legendary music directors like Laxmikant-Pyarelal, Anu Malik, and AR. Rahman and has sung for many successful movies.
He has lent his voice to many popular songs in Bollywood movies such as Romeo Naam Mera (Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja), Aisi Deewangi (Deewana), Nayak Nahin Khalnayak Hoon Main (KhalNayak), Ae Mere Humsafar (Baazigar), Doli Taro Dhol Baje (Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam) and M Bole To (Munna Bhai MBBS) among many others.
Vinod Rathod's popularity can be attributed to his unique voice, versatility, successful collaborations, and recognition in the form of awards and accolades.
Seemingly excited about performing in Auckland, Rathod said, “It has been on my wish list to perform in New Zealand. I would love to see my fans and followers to be there and spend the evening together. I assure you of an amazing evening.”
Even the organisers are excited about the three-hour-long event and hoping to attract a large crowd. Dharmend Shyam of Trivision Entertainment told Indian Weekender, “We expect an awesome crowd as Vinod Rathod is a legendary singer people have listened to for decades. It's once a lifetime opportunity to witness him perform live in Auckland. I promise it will be a very entertaining "Paisa Wasool’ event.”
Interestingly, the event will have musical singer Chandni Mukherjee performing with Rathod. Moreover, known stand-up Comedian Jaswant Singh Rathore (India's Laughter Challenge Fame) will also entertain the audience with his heart-throbbing jokes and mimicry of Bollywood stars.
When asked about the ticket sales, Shyam revealed, “Tickets are going fast. The $29 tickets are sold out, so $39, $69 and minimal VIP tickets are left. I want to request every Indian to come and support us to make this event a memorable one.
Moving on, the Kiwi Indian fans of Rathod also look forward to seeing him perform in the City of Sails. Jaskeerat Kaur, a Papakura resident in Auckland, says, "I have grown up listening to Vinod Rathod's songs. And it would be great to see him performing live. I look forward to this evening of music, fun, and laughter."
