Police investigating 'unexplained' death of university student

A Canterbury university student has died after crashing through his Christchurch home window. The man was found unconscious near his rented home in Riccarton early on Tuesday morning. The identity of the student has not yet been revealed.
An investigation is being conducted by the police and forensic investigators.
According to the police, the death is 'unexplained' and they are continuing their inquiries.
"Inquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances of the incident," a police spokesperson said.
"We know that people have questions about what has happened, and police are working hard to establish the circumstances that led to the death.
"While the investigation is underway we're limited in what detail we can provide."
Police spokesperson also said, "police are aware of the deep sense of grief in the Christchurch community following this morning's unexplained death.
"This is especially true of the family and friends of the person who has died, who need space to grieve."
Canterbury University spokesperson said, the university offers its "deepest condolences" to the deceased's family and friends. The University of Canterbury has also put support services in place urging those who require support to contact student care services.
Due to its proximity to Canterbury University, Riccarton is home to a large amount of university students.
