Put your Garba attire on…

With the festive spirit in the air, what’s better than enjoying it over Garba?

And if you want to dance your heart out and show your Garba moves, then Aaja Nachle Garba night is for you. Organised by Auckland's premier Indian Dance school Aaja Nachle, it will take place on Friday (September 16) at Roskill Youth Zone (740 Sandringham Rd Extension, Mt Roskill, Auckland).

Talking about the event, Jaspal Singh, Senior Manager of Aaja Nachle, says, "We are stoked to be back in the pre-covid scenario. Finally, Garba Night has returned after two long years. We look forward to a magical night of music, masti, and fun with whanau and community members. Join us for 5 hours of non-stop dancing to your favourite Garba tunes.”

Apart from dance, one could expect a lot of food and crafts stalls at the venue.

There are also prizes for best dressed in children and adult categories. So, come down to the event in your best chaniya cholis and sherwanis and enjoy a long-awaited night of dance, live music, and food. Indian Weekender is the media partner of this event.

Even the community members are all pepped up about the event.

Expressing her excitement, Deepikaben Patel, a Papatoetoe resident, says, "For the last two years, we have not been able to celebrate garba as we used to due to the Covid-19 pandemic. But thankfully, with things getting better this year, I am looking forward to attending the Aaja Nachle garba event and showing my dance moves."

Another Kiwi-Indian, Kritika Desai, shares the same sentiment, saying, " I am already getting my attire and look for the evening sorted. I look forward to an evening of fun, dance and delicious food."
