There are 91 new cases of Covid-19 cases in the community

New cases include one new case in Northland, 65 in Auckland, 17 in Waikato, one in Tairawhiti, three in Rotorua, one in Bay of Plenty, two in Hawke's Bay and one in Wellington.

There are also 39 cases in MIQ

10 people are in hospital with the virus 

This afternoon's Ministry of Health release did include report the total number of Omicron cases.

Yesterday the Ministry of Health reported 103 community cases of Covid-19 and one further death.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is in isolation until tomorrow after being on a flight where there was a positive Covid-19 case between Kerikeri and Auckland on 22 January.

Ardern tested negative for Covid-19 today, along with a senior staffer who was also on the flight returned a negative Covid-19 test.
