Papatoetoe Cricket Club (PCC) has a long and proud history of representing the wider cricketing world. To be a successful and vibrant club long into the future the club recently moved into a custom built new premises with world class training facilities. To celebrate this achievement the club is planning an inaugural Indian T 20 Tournament in association with Sports Recreation and Outdoors trust (SPROUT). Through this event, PCC is providing an opportunity to cricket lovers in the Indian community to be a part of this magnificent club and enjoy the sport.
The PCC-i T 20 Tournament will be a round robin contest and will be spread across two days. In all, six teams are participating in this event to be played at Papatoetoe Cricket ground on Great South Road, Papatoetoe. On 27th Dec 2010 two matches will be played from 10.00 am -1:00 pm and 3.00- 6:00pm respectively. The finals will be played on 28th Dec 2010 from 3.00 -6:00 pm. All the players will be provided with a team t-shirt, drinks and food. The final is 100% going to be thriller because many famous Indian players have already shown willingness to be part of this tournament. The prize giving ceremony will be from 6.00-6.30 pm on 28th Dec 2010.
A FREE one hour batting and bowling coaching session for 7-13 age groups has been arranged on 28th December 2010 from 5:00- 6:00 pm at the same venue. Please bring your own gears and learn the tricks from the experts.
The organisers are keen to make PCC-i T 20 Tournament an annual event and is thankful to local Indian businesses namely Green Fresh, Xotic, Bikanervala, Pan World Travels Centre, Doaba Sports Club, SPROUT for team sponsorship. According to them, it is all about participation and enjoying the spirit of the game. They also informed that the winning and runner-up teams will get cash prize along with a striking trophy. There are trophies for best batsman and best bowler of the tournament for grab.
