Son Deepak Lal, 30, an electrical assembler, has been living in Auckland for the past two years.
His 57-year-old father Jagdish Lal, who lives at Dawa St, Flagstaff, Suva, Fiji, is retired has no source of income.

The family had borrowed almost $55,000 to pay for the treatment and came with the hope that she would be cured. Most of their family is still in Fiji and it is wish of the family to take her body back to Fiji for cremation.

“Apart from the airfares for the family to travel to Fiji for the funeral they also need around $6000 for the funeral expenses and repatriation of the body to Fiji,” says Sam Achary, founder of the NZ-Fiji Community Servies and Projects Trust.

“The Trust together with Ann’s Funeral Services, is doing all its best to help this family and also seek your kind support as they do not have much funds at this point in time,” said Mr Achary.
“You may make donations direct to the family if you so wish.

“Time and again we come across sad stories about families facing financial difficulties during bereavement and today we are once again faced with a situation where a young family needs our help.
The contact number for Deepak is 09 636 6733.

“Our small contribution would mean a lot to this family and I am sure they would appreciate,” said Mr Achary.

“Let us not forget that we would all be going through this experience someday as death is our only destiny.”
