Covid-19 live updates for 17 November: 194 new community cases in New Zealand today, one further death

There are 194 new community cases of Covid-19 reported in New Zealand today, with one further death of a man in his 60s.

In a statement, the Ministry of Health said there are 88 people in hospital, including 7 in ICU.

It also the reported the death of a man in his 60s at North Shore Hospital. The man was admitted to hospital on 4 November with Covid-19 symptoms and subsequently tested positive. He died yesterday.

Yesterday saw a record 222 cases reported in the community, with cases identified in a number of centres across the North Island.
