There are 194 new community cases of Covid-19 reported in New Zealand today, with one further death of a man in his 60s.
In a statement, the Ministry of Health said there are 88 people in hospital, including 7 in ICU.
It also the reported the death of a man in his 60s at North Shore Hospital. The man was admitted to hospital on 4 November with Covid-19 symptoms and subsequently tested positive. He died yesterday.
Yesterday saw a record 222 cases reported in the community, with cases identified in a number of centres across the North Island.
Students in years one to 10 were allowed back to school in Auckland this morning after 91 days in lockdown and Covid-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins announced that vaccine certificates would be available to download from today.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is now announcing details about when Aucklanders will able to leave the city.
