Gurmeet Ram Rahim and 4 others were sentenced to life by a special CBI court in Panchkula, as per Indian Express. This was for the 2002 Ranjit Singh murder case.
The other 4 are Krishan Singh, Jasbir Singh, Avtar Singh, and Sabdil who all were fined Rs 50,000 each.
Ram Rahim has been lodged in Rohtak's Sunaria jail since his conviction in 2017 for rape. He had pleaded for leniency based on welfare work being done by Dera Sacha Sauda.
