Covid-19 updates on Auckland's first day of loosened level 3 restrictions

Outdoor gatherings between two households in Auckland are now allowed, with up to 10 people, as slightly eased level 3 restrictions kick off today.

The rules on gatherings mean you meet at a park, playground, or beach or invite friends or family over for dinner outside - but they can't go inside.

The rules for exercise were updated late last night on the government's Covid-19 website, and are looser than first announced.

Outdoor classes of up to 10 people do not have to be from just a few households and can include as many as 10 bubbles.

People must stay 2m metres apart, so contact sports are still banned.
