A man has been taken into custody after allegedly pointing a firearm out the window of a parked car in the suburb of Karori in Wellington.
The police were called to Burrows Avenue about 7.15pm tonight.
A police spokesperson said the man was not necessarily pointing the firearm at anything or anyone specifically.
Armed police staff have attended as a precaution and a firearm has been recovered.
The police say any charges are yet to be determined.
