Vaccinations at fast food outlets approved

Vaccinations will begin at popular fast food drive-throughs in Auckland in the next few days.

The Ministry of Health says it is has been looking at new opportunities to vaccinate people where they turn up in large numbers in the community.

A spokesperson says that includes the many fast-food options that have been so busy as the city moved to level 3.

KFC said yesterday it offered to help the government.

Frontline Covid-19 vaccinators are stepping up efforts to reach the next 10 percent of Aucklanders.

The city has about 80 percent of people vaccinated, with lower rates among Maori and Pacific people.

The government says it wants to see everyone at 90 percent in less that two weeks.
