Dr Worth appointed Consul for Monaco

Lawyer, company director and former National Party MP Dr Richard Worth has been appointed the Consul for the Principality of Monaco in New Zealand.

Dr Worth was a litigation partner and later Chairman for 13 years of New Zealand’s largest law firm, Simpson Grierson, specialising in public law, government process and regulation.

From 1999 to 2009, he was a member of the New Zealand Parliament where he served on a range of committees including the Commerce Committee and chaired the Regulations Review Committee. In the National led government, he was a Minister of the Crown.

He is particularly interested in international business and has strong networks in the Chinese, Korean and Indian communities. He has been past chairman of the Korea New Zealand Business Council, past president of the Hong Kong NZ Business Council and past chairman of the India Trade Group.

He is Officer of the British Empire (Military Division) and Knight of the Venerable Order of St John of Jerusalem.
