Devotees throng Radha Krishna temple for Janmastami celebrations

Lord Krishna, the name itself explains everything. There are various meanings, one is all attraction or dark, so the rightly named one who came in the dark night of Ashtami and attracted and enchanted everyone.

On Saturday, August 24, it seemed like The Sun, The Moon, The Stars with us celebrating being weekend the weather was just amazing for all the devotees to come along.

The Shri Radha Krishna Temple on 145 New North Road, Eden Terrace was open all day for the devotees for darshan.

Devotees on Ashtami like every year were left spellbound as they came in hundreds to have one glimpse of Krishna at the temple.

All the volunteers were on their feet for days to celebrate Janmashtami.

One of our devotee Rameshbhai D Patel put long hours into making the decorations at the temple, and all the members of Auckland Indian Association came together to celebrate this big festival together.

“There wouldn’t have been bigger celebration than this as we had Swami Yogeshwardasji and Swami Patitpavandasji, Parshad Arun Bhagat, Parshad Viral Bhagat, Parshad Neel Bhagat and Valjibhai Patel from Swaminaryan temple in Sardhaar to celebrate Krishna Janmashtami with us,” Pandit Devrambhai Raval said.

“It was like icing on cake when the devotees at the temple felt blessed  celebrating Janmastami in their company,” he added.

Pushpanjali group and Bhajan group of RK Mandir also were thrilled to join in with Swamijis to sing Krishna Bhajans and his glories.

At midnight, the temple hosted mahaaarti and prasad for everyone and those who couldn’t stay till 12 a.m. had prasad ready for them to take.

Another big year and event that was successfully and gloriously celebrated at the temple.

“We now look forward and gearing up for another big festival Shri Ganesh Chathurthi starting from Monday, September 2, till Thursday, September 12, and Radha Ashtami that will be held on Friday, September 6.
